Yes, I Said It! Why I Support HB 1598

Yes, I said it! I’ll say it again, “It is child abuse to withhold counseling, therapy and pastoral care from a child or teenager struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction or homosexual behavior when he or she desires change and is seeking help! It is tragic to withhold or prevent counseling from a sexually abused child confused in his or her teenage years when they are seeking help to overcome their unwanted same-sex attraction.”

This is what we are up against today all over the country!

It seems “gay is the only way” in California, New Jersey and the District of Columbia for our youth where they have passed laws preventing therapy and counseling for those under the age of 18. There is a shift taking place in the Church and in our country. The shift is a growing apostasy concerning the normalization of homosexuality among evangelicals. It is just like the proverbial frog in the pan of water set to boil. We cannot even discern just how close we are to the boiling point of death in heretical teachings that allow for “gay Christianity.” It seems few in the Church are concerned. This was revealed recently by the lack of support for HB 1598 – “The Parental and Family Rights in Counseling Protection Act.”  Very few Christians are involved in these moral and family policy issues; they are failing to be salt in light in our world.

Many have embraced “Christian Political Correctness” (CPC) with Christian leaders who communicate a seductive kindness and ‘accepting’ tone about homosexuality. Otherwise you will be considered “unkind,” “unloving,” “intolerant,” “homophobic,” “bigoted,” and, of course, “hateful” if speaking in disagreement. It is a tragedy when leaders in the Church and our legislative bodies at the state and federal levels embrace a belief that young people who struggle with unwanted same-sex attraction should embrace only a gay identity, that “gay is the only way.” Some leaders actually believe it is unloving by getting our teens help; they believe that getting them counseling and therapy is harmful. Ridiculous! Some of these leaders have adopted an idea it is okay to be a “gay Christian”. Many lawmakers have bought into a lie that young people who struggle with same-sex attraction, even if they have been sexually abused as children, should embrace homosexuality. They believe people are born gay, even when the all the science is against such beliefs. These “leaders” are believing lies from the gay political agenda and Hollywood. Therefore these “leaders” are knowingly and unknowingly aligned with the gay political agenda in furthering the recruitment of young people into homosexuality. They have become “leaders” who are propagating more child abuse.

Representatives and Christian Leaders – What Do Your Really Believe?
What kind of a leader who says he believes in the family would align himself with such a diabolical plan to recruit more young people into homosexuality? What kind of leader who calls himself or herself a Christian could align with such laws in California, New Jersey, and DC to ban counseling? What kind of leader would vote for such proposed laws in more than 15 other states preventing help for teens with unwanted same-sex attraction? What kind of leader would vote down HB 1598 in Oklahoma knowing it would protect our children? Wouldn’t it be a very deceived leader, who is at the very least naïve or a leader who is not paying close attention to what is going on in our country? Wouldn’t this be a leader who is afraid of gay activists, instead of doing the right thing? Is it possible that these leaders actually know what they are doing and they just don’t care? Men and women who don’t care MUST be replaced with those who do care, who love righteousness, and who love families and children.

Why I support HB 1598 and Representative Sally Kern
Oklahoma House Bill 1598 is preemptive and forward thinking. Representative Sally Kern sees what is happening in other states where gay activists are busy trying to pass laws to stop young people from getting needed and desired counseling. These activists put forward stories of those who are “victims” of therapy and counseling. They focus on the failures of those who were not successful in limiting their unwanted same-sex attractions or homosexual addictive behavior. Much like a drug addict or sex addict, these people who fail, blame the therapists, counselors or ministries instead of taking responsibility for their own desires and behavior. They want to embrace homosexuality and they are free to do so in this country. There is more freedom than ever before in our country to embrace homosexuality. They are completely free to make a choice to embrace homosexuality. However, it is an attack on civil and religious liberties to undermine and stop others from getting help. I am so grateful I was able to find help and lasting freedom from homosexuality in 1983. Anyone who would prevent people from getting help to overcome homosexuality is abusive!

Rep. Sally Kern has more courage than most men in all 50 states legislatures. In 2008, Rep. Kern was excoriated in the national press by gay activists and mocked by many in the media like Ellen DeGeneres. Many Republicans continue to distance themselves from Rep. Kern because they are cowards; they are afraid they will be politically incorrect. They are fearful to be ‘controversial’ and they are afraid to be called down by activists. They communicate in terms of being wise in their political correctness, yet in reality they’re cowards or they embrace homosexuality themselves. Now in 2015, we see the family being redefined in such a way that marriage will mean nothing in a few short years in America. These same lawmakers who believe themselves so wise will find themselves on the wrong side of history, especially on Judgment Day, but that’s for another message.

We will all look back at this time in history and see the reason Representative Sally Kern was under attack. It is a spiritual attack, a diabolical plot to keep homosexuality moving forward in our society. Sally Kern is a woman of courage who had the foresight to see that the political homosexual movement is, in fact, more dangerous in eroding Christian values and destroying the natural family from the inside out, than the threat of terrorism in America. History will show that Representative Kern – a civics and history teacher – a humble grandmother was on the right side of history, even while comedians and colleagues made fun and many so-called ‘Christians’ laughed. A woman who will outshine all her colleagues who are too cowardly to stand with her, unless they hear from us. We must empower these legislators to regroup and to stand in courage with Sally Kern. However, we must all unite in courage to stand with Representative Kern as well. Will you?

Some Very Unpopular Questions No One Wants to Ask or Answer; perhaps you might want to ask Oklahoma Representatives some of these questions. Representatives, What Are You Really Supporting?

I would like to ask all lawmakers and leaders individually, face to face some very unpopular questions, who are unwilling to vote for HB 1598 or other preemptive types of legislation concerning “gay” interests:

  • Do you really believe that homosexual behavior is healthy and natural?
  • Do you still believe that homosexuality is inborn when all the science points to environmental issues?
  • Do you honestly believe the practices of homosexuals are something you can embrace yourself? If not, then why would you prevent a teenager, who is in his or her most formative years of sexual development to get the help they need and want?
  • Are you actually are in league with the gay activists in recruiting our youth?
  • Why would any leader limit freedom from teenagers from getting counseling they want?

Things you should ask Oklahoma Representatives who are unwilling to vote for HB 1598:

  • Are you really for limiting parental rights?
  • Are you really for limiting civil liberties and religious liberties for counselors, therapists, and parents?
  • Are you paying attention to the political landscape of gay political activists who are trying to pass laws all over the country to suppress counseling for youth and attack businesses and churches that embrace a Biblical worldview on homosexuality as sin?
  • Are you willing to go on record for limiting helping and freedom for teenagers?
  • Are you willing to go on record by voting against HB 1598 in disregard of self-determination?
  • Are you willing to go on record by voting against HB 1598 in complete disregard of civil and religious liberties?

Please contact the following Representatives below, and your own Representative today!

  1. Please be sure you spread this to every Christian in your email list.
  2. Make sure you place these four phone calls on Monday, March 9th and Tuesday March 10, 2015.

PLEASE SUPPORT BIBLICAL ISSUES BY MAKING FOUR PHONE CALLS MONDAY MARCH 9, 2015!

HB 1598
Parental and Family Rights in Counseling Protection Act
This gives parents the freedom to engage a counselor to help their own children. It prohibits the state from prosecuting parents or counselors for helping remediate a child who is struggling with same-sex attractions.  See First Stone Press Release.  (Background documents “why” I support HB 1598)

HB 1599
Preservation of Sovereignty and Marriage Act
This makes it illegal for the state of Oklahoma to recognize same-sex marriages and requires the removal of any judge who violates the act.

DEADLINE:
Bill must be scheduled by Wednesday, March 11 to be heard on the House floor by the deadline for bills to be heard. (Deadline is Thursday, March 12.)

WHO TO CALL:
Calls should be made to the speaker of the house as well as to the three legislators (floor leaders) who organize the floor agenda for the speaker. The floor leaders are legislators who were appointed by the speaker and for the most part make the decisions as to which bills get heard and organize the agenda. The Speaker is consulted, but will only weigh in if there are bills he insists get heard. Each of the four needs to be called and emailed.

TO VISIT THEM FACE TO FACE:
A visit to the Capitol would be required to actually speak to any of these people face to face. You may drop by their offices of go to the floor when they are in session and call them out. Calling them out of session is not an irritation to them and a regular part of their day. To do this, you will fill out a request card which the lobby attendant will deliver to the house member. He will come out when he has a moment.

Mean-spirited emails over Carrie Prejean post

Hate EmailI have received some very interesting emails about my previous post.

Let me clarify again; I am not trying to communicate that Carrie Prejean is to be compared to the godliness of an Esther or that her sacrifice of giving up the Miss USA crown is the same level of sacrifice as Ether’s submission to an evil king. This post should be read in context with Pastor McPherson’s message and Carrie’s behind the scene testimony.

This blog post went up because I merely find it amusing and interesting how this issue – (A Biblical Standard of Holiness) was brought to National attention; it took a 21 year old “beauty queen” persecuted by a gay activist – Prez Hilton, a silent Donald Trump, and the gay sympathizing Ms. USA judge panel bias. Another reason for this post was the amusing and sad part of this whole account; that this wasn’t brought to National attention by the CHURCH or godly men.

I find it interesting that I received emails from hateful gay blog bullies and religious folks who are unwilling to come out of the shadows to actually talk to me and reveal their identities but are content to spew their hate and religious talk.

I close with this thought. My original post was not an endorsement of Carrie Prejean’s past behavior of taking photos half nude or even being a beauty queen. However it is about a mere observation of a 21 year old, growing adult, willing to come full circle and surrender a pageant title to her faith in God and her personal belief that marriage is between one man and one woman. This took a lot of courage, and unfortunately it is more courage than many pastors. I am still waiting on the pastors who are unwilling to speak out against this new President’s pro-gay agenda; the very pastors that endorsed Obama and voted for him as President; as this President has set this country into a new level of homosexual acceptance. Sadly it seems there has been more courage displayed in this “beauty-queen” than most “Christian” men in the Church who are unwilling to take a public STAND about these social issues of our day.

However Pastor McPherson gave us very good reminder that we are to STAND!

Miss California Faces Intolerance with Class

Disclaimer / Warning: The content of the bottom YouTube video with Perez Hilton is offensive.  The use of this video is not to be construed as an endorsement of the video producer and is used only as informational purposes only.

Carrie Prejean ~ The Classy Miss CaliforniaThe level of intolerance in the USA is at an all time high, but not from the “right-wing” conservatives or from Christians. It is coming from those who scream the loudest for tolerance. Politically correct tolerance is only for those who believe that homosexual behavior must be given civil rights status equal to race and gender; and any other beliefs are met with hostility and intolerance.  This intolerance not only came from the openly gay Perez Hilton as seen in the hateful video clip below, but from the betrayal of Miss California’s “friends” and colleagues.  It is now obvious Carrie Prejean’s “friends” were in this only for the “win” and not for Carrie personally.  Miss Prejean’s “freinds” Shanna Moakler and business partner Keith Lewis completely snubbed Carrie, only later to continue in their intolerance by communicating divisive twitter posts.

Miss California, Carrie Prejean who was winning the contest for Miss USA until she was asked the controversial question by Perez Hilton a self proclaimed gay celebrity gossip queen.  Perez asked the question since four states have legalized gay marriage shouldn’t all the states now legalize marriage?  Whatever happened to majority rules in a vote?  There are currently 30 other states that have already said “NO” to gay marriage, apparently all of Miss Prejean’s critics have forgotten this known fact. Let’s remember, Miss California does represent California as it was the majority who voted for Prop 8. No doubt Miss California faced fierce political and spiritual opposition on the stage in giving her answer, yet Carrie stayed true to her convictions and boldly shared her belief in God and her faith in Jesus Christ as seen in this YouTube interview with Sean Hannity.

Carrie Prejean feels so blessed to be one who would rather live by her convictions than compromise to be a man pleaser!  She is a much better role-model than those left behind in this story.  Carrie Prejean stood strong on her faith and Biblical beliefs.  I applaud Miss California!  I pray she goes far, and I believe she will.  We are now living in a day when there are fewer and fewer people willing to take such a bold stand.  Many minister’s could learn from Carrie’s stand and bold witness.  Unfortunately everyone is told by the politically correct left that it will offend someone, and masses of Christians are shut down and silenced.

Miss California has continued to handle her interviews with dignity and class.  Sean Hannity asked Ms. Prejean in this interview how she felt about Peres’ verbal attacks; as his politically motivated judgment cost her the crown.  Carrie answered with great class and godliness, as she communicated forgiveness to Perez.  She wishes Perez and her friends the very best.  It was sincere and truly beautiful. What a terrifically beautiful woman of God, inside and out.

Perez Hilton could learn a lot from this REAL queen, Miss California.   Read how outrageous this leader of the gay Hollywood elite treats the classy Miss Prejean. Perez Hilton has come unhinged and sadly represents many who feel the same way.  Perez Hilton, Miss USA judge, calls beauty queen, Carrie Prejean the ‘B-word’ and the ‘C-word’ with sarcasm and hatred. So where are the drive by media decries? Where is “Miss USA Pageant” quick denouncements? Sadly they are non-existent.

Ex-Gays Afraid to Come Out for Fear of Persecution!

Silenced by Gay BulliesI personally don’t like describing myself as “ex-gay,” however; it communicates a quick sound bite of the reality and a direction of many. So while others might be disturbed by the term, “ex-gay” I feel it is a waste of time to wrangle over words that work in concisely communicating.  Yes, folks I am “ex-gay” though I do not find my identity in being “ex-gay.” I am also very concerned that there are many great stories of “ex-gays” which are being browbeaten into silence.

I have been made aware of the growing hostility towards ex-gays in the past couple of years in the media, and recently on many blogs. Even the very popular Bill O’Reilly (here’s an article here where Bill wanted to sue an ex-gay minister) continues to communicate snide chuckles on his program at the idea of ex-gays.  Fox News is somewhat fair and balanced to Judeo-Christian values, yet they do a better job with conservative political news. I like and watch Fox News, and even watch O’Reilly a lot, because most of the other cable news outlets are very hostile to the idea of Christian values, never-mind the idea of ex-gays. Our culture is completely buying into the hoax of being born gay and has accepted the idea of being gay as normality.

The hostility is really growing to the message of leaving homosexuality behind.  It could actually become illegal in the near future to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in helping people find freedom from of homosexuality.  Even well-meaning Christians scoff at the idea, perhaps they should view the documentary: SPEECHLESS – SILENCING the CHRISTIANS. Perhaps we should remember our history of Nazi Germany. We should at least read the recent news from our Canadian neighbors to the north. In Canada it is illegal to speak out that homosexuality is sin. It is now legislatively considered hate speech and prosecutable; a topic worth Googling.  Perhaps well-meaning, well-educated yet misinformed Christians wouldn’t scoff at this knowledge.

I came across this article yesterday “Ex-Gays Afraid to Come Out for Fear of Persecution” and thought this would be a good post in light of this discussion.  Ex-gays are in fact, afraid to make themselves known. I have met with MANY people who are influential in my community and others who have church communities that would make it very difficult to talk about their recovery from homosexuality.  Yet there is even a larger and growing threatening group of gay activists who are fueling the fire of fear and oppression in our culture. They wish to silence the freedom of choice when it comes to leaving homosexuality. The idea of leaving homosexuality is very threatening to their gay insecure existence and their political agendas.  Wayne Besen, a self-proclaimed activist, is one of these very loud voices, he is cruel and mean-spirited. These groups are receiving too much attention, just like the school yard bully or another picture that comes to mind, it’s like the elementary kid throwing himself down on the floor throwing the hissy-fit.  I know what I want to do to that kid, but Dr. Spock wouldn’t like it!  Yet our culture is deceived by Darwinian-ism and humanistic beliefs. Our society is vacillating from being increasingly afraid of these bullies or being in love with them!

There are growing numbers of political gay groups that are very disturbing to me. They are actual GAY hate groups who wish to silence the voices of ex-gays. These groups are like the brazenly named “Ex-Gay Watch” and their club of bloggers who use hatefully sarcastic words in addressing ex-gays. There are even more radical groups that are extra hateful with their narcissistic sarcasms which reveal vicious vitriol fueled by people like Wayne Besen.  I have had my own personal encounters with these groups. These people have actually posted ideas of how to stalk and harm ex-gay ministries and their leaders.  They sarcastically mock and hope for the demise of any ex-gay ministry leader.  They write books and plays applauding, scoffing and laughing at any relapse of any individual leaving homosexuality. If someone did this with other addicts like alcoholics or other human weaknesses the media would crucify them and then completely dismiss them as cruel hateful people, like Rev. Phelps and his gang; not so for gay activists.

A very successful attorney friend of mine recently told me he felt it was like 1933 in Nazi Germany for Christians and Exodus type ministries in the USA.  He seriously joked with me and said, “Stephen it is like 1933 and your last name isn’t Black, but Bernstein. Your ministries will be on the front-line of the next demonic wave of an anti-Christ movement in history. It is coming.”  WOW! It was a sobering moment.

One merely need to lightly read over blogs like the “Ex-GAY WATCH” and/or Wayne Besen’s blog and you will know we are living in very dark days.  In the news just yesterday, at WorldNetDaily, Wayne Besen is revealed in an article that exposes his tactics and lies. The article by Bob Unruh describes Wayne Besen “as the Fred Phelps of the left.” Pretty scary!

It is sad how many people are afraid of gay activists, liberal gay blog bullies and the liberal gay anti-Christ media machine. They are silencing their great stories about overcoming homosexuality.

Yet in closing, we need to have hope, as Charles Dickens said, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” and so shall it be right before the great and terrible day of the Lord.  He is coming and HE will set things STRAIGHT!
