Great article. I had the privilege to meet her last Thursday at the Dove Awards (photo to be posted soon!) and she was just amazing. She was so encouraged to hear about all the Faith-based groups supporting her, praying for her, etc.

If only our politicians had the courage to STAND like this 20-year-old Christian woman.

I am amazed at how much this country has changed in the past 20 years. 20 years ago, a homosexual would be required to leave the military. Shortly after that they instituted “Don’t ask. Don’t tell.” Now, we are supposed to approve of gay marriage.

I applaud Miss Prejean for standing up for her beliefs. She had to know that her answer would change her world. For a while (if not forever) she will answer good and bad responses about her answer. We should pray, and continue to pray for her to stay strong, not get discouraged, and know God will take care of her.

As for Mr. Hilton….I am appalled that he would even be allowed to judge the pageant. His behavior is clearly not that of a rational adult. I think we should pray also for him. We should pray that God will take care of the situation. No one can handle it better than He can.

I think this whole thing was a fix. I don’t believe it lost Ms. California the crown…what she believes (and said) is “free speech”, but as said on The 700 Club today, if they pass the “hate speech” thing, any hate speech will not fall under the “free speech”. It’s that way in Canada and pretty much world-wide. If you say gays are evil in Canada, the station broadcasting that remark will be fined $250k. Our society is so corrupt, so immoral. Nothing seems to bother anyone anymore. Aside from this woman speaking her mind and being morally correct Stephen, her (their) dress; i.e., bathing suits, etc. is nothing more than soft porn, so regardless what they say, when they are partially nude, it doesn’t move me much.

finally some one willing to NOT compromise what they believe. I think it is fantasic that she listened to the prompting of the Holy Spirit not to water down what she believed. This is certain someone that has God’s ear.

We really need to pray for her, I’m sure the spiritual enemy’s in this world would love to see this wonderful persons testimony tarnished. Let us go down on our knees that He would send His Anagels to protect her from the plots of the enemy and that God would continue to use this great and might vessel of honor.

I don’t usually blog, but I will comment gladly on this topic. After seeing the video of the whole questioning segment… where they call Miss California up for her question, and both of the pageant hosts make comments about the person who would be asking her the question and making remarks like, “oh, it’s going to be bad”…really bothered me, because it was obvious that she was completely “set up” for that scenario to take place! I thought the questioning was to be more “random”, whatever… either way, she definitely was smeared by the pageant…. who saw this incident coming and did nothing to prevent it. It’s very disgusting that Hilton is even a judge for the reasons previously stated in the earlier blogs… but to allow him to discriminate against religious beliefs, and free speech so blatantly by his voting, and comments… makes us all question the future of the Miss America Pageant. Miss California has been so gracious, which will continue to show the love of Christ to the world. It’s so great to see someone with such a public platform live their faith in the face of the world’s opposition so boldly and unapologetically…., not seeking revenge upon Hilton or the pageant. She definitely has the spirit of Esther. God bless her!

Stephen, excellent blog! I think the most troubling thing to me about this story is that it is now “controversial” to say that marriage should be between a man and a woman. How quicky this country has flip-flopped…what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right. God help us. I applaud Miss California for having the courage to speak the truth!

All I can say is that Donald Trump has hit a new low with this debacle. As owner of the Miss USA franchise, how could he have allowed a classless, demented creep like Perez Hilton to judge in what was formerly a prestigious event? This is the same Perez Hilton that draws pictures of genitalia on celebrities’ faces for his “blog”. Miss California wasn’t alone; Perez asked other contestants totally offensive questions, used sexually inappropriate terms when describing their bodies (check out his question to Miss NC)…if anything, Donald Trump needs to haul Hilton out front to deliver a scorching “YOU”RE FIRED” if he wants to salvage what’s left of his name and his pageant’s credibility.

Very true… it makes the Miss USA pageant and the Trump power marginalized and makes it seem very insignificant. The reputation of this entire pageant is viewed as skanky by any respectable person! Perez is vulgar, and the pageant organizers knew what they were getting into when they hired him on as a judge. They no doubt wanted this element of vileness.

The world view and hatefulness portrayed by Mr Hilton makes it seem that this was a platform deliberately launching the pro gay agenda. Through fear and hatefulness there has been onslaught against anything opposing their point of view. It is very sad that they feel they have to rig a beauty pageant that shows the beauty of a women to preach out against the sanctity of a marriage being between a man and a woman. Good for her that she was fearless and strong in her opinion to the world to speak out and say what she believed. It shows that our voices can be heard and they do make a difference when we speak out the truth. This seems to show that it back fired on Perez Hilton that she will now be out there as another voice crying out the truth about marriage truly being between a man and a woman.

what astounds me is 1. why would they choose a very openly gay man to be a judge on Miss American to begin with???? The fact that he posed that question, it had to be some sort of set up because it’s just not fair to try to corner someone running for the crown with SUCH a hot topic question like that. Of ALL the things he could have asked her. 2.It has to be obvious to those who oversee the pageants that their choice to have Perez ( fake name, fake person) was a huge mistake, especially when he demonstrates on this video that he cannot handle/respect other people’s opinions or beliefs and has to belittle her on a private video. It’s just another HUGE example that according to the Homosexual Subculture, there is only one opinion that we are all supposed to have………..THEIRS. It’s sickening to think the church could wind up at the mercy of legislated Sexual behaviour. God have Mercy on this nation. Thank you for this post Stephen. I had actually seen this on the web before the postings began but it’s necessary for something to be said OVER AND OVER.THE CHURCH NEEDS TO WAKE UP!
