Thanks for the link to a secular dictionary, however, I’ll use God’s Biblical definition for the direction of my life. In the beginning God created man and woman, and Jesus reiterated this as the divine intention for human sexuality. Marriage is a covenant, not a contract and it is holy. God’s intent is for marriage to bring us into union with His creative power and create life; therefore it is with one man and one woman.

Thousands of years? Surely you don’t want to look back that far in making your point. All the way back to when polygamy was the norm, or when marriage was a property arrangement. Or even back to when marriage between two races was wrong. Those versions and marriage laws don’t bode well for your “Keep it the same as its always been! Tradition!” argument. In the last few “thousands of years” marriage has evolved and been “redefined” in a great number of ways. Have you seen the newest Merriam-Webster definition? Why don’t you save the “activist judges” crap for the KKK and others who were against Brown vs. Board of Education, Loving v. Virginia, etc. Our judicial branch of “activist judges” have a history of protecting minorities from the masses, even when it was against the majority of the citizens at the time.
